Exploring Cricut and More - Birthday Box Card

Hello Everyone! I'm sharing today over at Exploring Cricut and More. I created another of Lori Whitlock's cute 3d box cards. I think they are super fun to create and really the hardest is picking the papers you would like to choose. The design is all done for you!

This was a birthday card for my nephew so my colors were chosen based on a teenage boy. There was one candle on the cake that I decided to snip off. I think there is still so much detail on the cake that it is not needed. Another fun idea I thought of, after I was done, was welding the number of the birthday or anniversary to the cake.

I used gold Stickles for the banner instead of real brads. Either works great! I inked up the stars and the yellow banner pieces so they would stand out a little more.

Exploring Cricut and More - "It's A Spring Thing"

Happy Monday! It's challenge time at Exploring Cricut and More. Make a card, layout or craft celebrating Spring and include at least 1 flower.

I decided to create a card. I used my Cricut to cut the images I chose. The birds had legs on them but I cut them off because I wanted the birds to be resting on the branch and flowers.

I chose to stickle the flowers so they would show up better on the white embossed scallop circle. The scalloped circle was given some texture by running it through the Cuttlebug machine. I used a brown marker to make the eyes for the birds.

Recipe:
A2 cardbase
Scalloped Circle - Elegant Edges 3.71"
Branch with Flowers - Gypsy Wanderings 1", 0.86"
Birds - 3 Birds- Straight From the Nest 1"
Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls
Orange, Yellow, Blue Stickles, brown marker

Thanks for stopping by and hope you join in the challenge this week!

Exploring Cricut and More - Easter Surprises

Happy Thursday and welcome! It's my turn to share at Exploring Cricut and More and I decided to show you some more Easter goodies that might help inspire you as you get prepared. I can't believe that it is next week and I'm not ready!!  If you're like me, this might help you get inspired. I am in love with Lori Whitlock's 3d box cards. There was a sale recently for 1/2 off everything at the Silhouette store and I stocked up. Needless to say you will be seeing more of these cute cards.

I really like that they will fit in an A2 or 5x7 envelope, so no extra postage! All the guess work is already done for you. It's just a matter of picking the papers that you want to use.

I also added paper to the back of the card. I just duplicated the images and resized them. This is a great spot to write a note, but I think will look a little dressier with the matted finish.

I did add some more elements to the card just to make it more my own. The extra bow and extra scallop were added. Stickles was also added to the pink bow.

Exploring Cricut and More - Easter

Good Morning! Are you ready for a challenge? This is a fun one and will hopefully get you ready for the upcoming holiday - Easter. Create a card, layout or papercraft including at least one frame and one embellishment (button, brad, jewel, etc).

I chose this 3d stand up Christian Cross by Lori Whitlock #57242.

I chose a Kraft paper for the base and used papers from My Mind's Eye. Each flower had the edges inked in green and gold brads were added to the middle. The card also came with an envelope since this is a smaller size card, so that is awesome too. I like that it can stand up on its own for display.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out my DT sisters as they always have great inspiration for us all!!
